Designed by Master Builder Yuriy at the Fender Custom Shop, here's a project that we just finished for Fender...whew. A ton of work needless to say. I started programming it off and on about 4 months ago. Many hours by Tony, Pops and myself. Yuriy digs it, hopefully the customer will too once it's completed.

Many thanks to Todd for giving his blessing to "re-use" his original concept and design from #024 for this Artisan Master. However, unlike the first one, Todd wasn't kind enough to inlay all the stars on the fretboard and headstock! Man that's a ton of work!!!

For the first time in almost 2 years....I played another guitar besides 140 on a gig.
It was a 3 set party for our company pres' son, came back from 2 years in Iraq, and 1 in Afghanistan. (airforce)

So a lot more cover tunes and such. One or two originals squeaked in I think.

For the first time...I played another guitar live. I mean, I have a lot of stuff for fun and such, jamming whatever. But for a gig,
it's always been 140...that's it.

BURDEN, (my band), will promptly start the classic rock riffage at 7pm, Thursday July 31st, at Quaker Steak & Lube on Merchants Road here in Knoxville. This is the best Bike Night in town-when the weather is good there are 800-1000 bikes! They have great hot wings, frosty brews, and the most smoking hot beer tub girls you've ever tried to keep your eyes off of! It would be awesome to see even one person who knows what a Thorn guitar is in attendance. For those who ride, get your motor...

Yeah a little 5.4 or so hit this morning. I was in downtown L.A. and watched my car move and the buildings sway. Lost cell phones for a while was a slow rolling quake for I don't know 15-30 seconds or so. Was a good reminder of Quakes.

Sure the Yeti cave felt it too, good thing the new wood rack is there.

As I watched the recent introductions I realized it was getting closer to "that time". Keep in mind this was originally AD#197 and is "in line" according to that order placement. As it turns out our big family vacation this year had us heading out to California from Upstate New York for a little over a week. After a few days in San Diego we had a mid-week day that was not booked up with tourist attractions. After checking in with Ron he said it was at a great time to stop...

Dunlop (Thorn) Maintenance Cradle

So I was just flipping through the new Guitar World 2009 Guide and there on page 212 is Ron's neck cradle, the Dunlop NC65 Maintenance Station Neck Cradle. List $44.94, but no mention of its inventor. With all the other names, plugs and credits sprinkled through the guide, I was disappointed that Ron wasn't mentioned. You'd think that a Thorn connection would appeal even more to the guitar world and increase sales for Dunlop, but I'm not a markerter.
