 OK, so maybe this isn't exactly Room #148, but it's the next best thing for those of us not in attendance. A place to post the happenings from this weekend. If you get to go, be sure to thrill us all with your tales from the Thorn/Phatdaddy compound as well as any other goodies you may stumble across at the show. Photos, stories, limericks! I too am hoping the "boys" are having a kickasss time! I can nearly feel a buzzz all the way over here on the right coast! Must be some powerful stuff!

It's sunday at almost 1 in the morining. I'm bushed! Still gotta pack up for the ride home timorrow.
Great show, saw lots of peeps, got some timwe on the hot rod, and had a ball. More later, gotta get some shuteye. E, the poster is fantstic. Thank you SOO much. BTW Short version,..... Josh Smith and Vivagold (mark) came in and just BLEW some killer playing. As usual....pondering when to burn my guitars. LOL Great to see some friends, Dane, JamesS, Godfrey, and anyone I'm forgeting! (Yawn) more once home, maybe Nick and Ron will chime in tomorrow. (today)? ______________________

I think I need another nap. The two hour one I had this afternoon isn't cutting it for me.
The show was pretty good overall. We had a lot of people come in and check out the guitars and had a lot of interest. We'll see what kind of exposure we get in the next few weeks with inquiries and what-not. We had a nice dinner Saturday night with Steve, Mike, John and his wife, and myself after the show. Thanks for letting me hang with you guys!! I had a great time hanging out and seeing everyone. A big thank you needs to go out to Big Mike and Steve for helping set up with the booth, they went way above and beyond as always. Also to John and his wife, they helped out a lot when we broke down the booth and loading out. You guys are saints!!!!! ----------------------------------

Big fun...just big fun....
The booth run by Thorn Guitars and Phatdaddy's was incredible! Debie and I wandered through the different rooms, and Room 148 was definitely a huge cut above the rest.  What more could any gearhead ask for? The Hot Rod series Jr. 90's were just incredible, I can't say enough about how cool they looked. But, that wasn't the best thing about them. I had the pleasure of listening to some terrific guitarists pulling out a myriad of tones with nothing more than guitar straight into amp. Almost any great tone you could think of was pulled out of these great instruments. I was impressed by just how open sounding and versatile these were....the bar was set to a new level with these!Lot's of great amps to plug into as well The new Greer Hellfire was a big hit, everyone was plugging into it. Reinhardt's 18 watter was getting a bunch of play as well. Seems like the Greer Ghetto Stomp was the pedal in the booth that was getting used the most. I watched Josh Smith put a couple of Ron's guitars into the Greer and it was just a treat. Plus, some kid named Owen wandered into the booth towards the end of the show and just dazzled everyone with the stylistic ground you could cover with one of Ron's guitars and one of the fine amps in the room. Just a treat... Thanks to Ron, Mike and Nick for letting Debie and I hang with you guys. I think all the "help" we provided was getting in the way, but that's probably another story. I'm still trying to figure out what happened to the breakfast bill....?  - John

That was a great looking poster.
I had a hell of a time hanging with Ron and Big Mike. It was a total "tone fest". All of the amps that Mike had sounded great. The stomp boxes were extremely versatile. I am getting a Batch Of "A" for myself. As far as Ron's guitars: What could you say, they were beyond expectaions. The tone was amazing. They are still my favorites. Looking foreward till next time. |
