I remember how excited Mark was the day of the old Forum gathering we he and Mrs. Ray decided that ordering a guitar from Ron was the way to go. Man they were both so jazzed. We were all on a cloud that weekend, it was such a hoot. Like kids with too much sugar and Santa coming the next day. That guitar came out so beautifully. Glad to see she's still getting a workout!
My thumb is cramping up just thinking about that neck carve. -e. |

e- I remember that year too!
Mark and Cathy were staying with us and we went down to the Friday night "meet at the hotel bar". We delivered Dave Metta's guitars to him but when Mark saw the Thorns in the corner you could see the wheels begin to spin!!! Mark was already looking for something as Cathy had Ok'ed an Anniversary guitar! The Thorn was the opportunity to do something really special and boy did they ever!!! Great to see action shots for sure...hope to see you both at the "Gathering" next year. You know you always have a place to stay with Deenie and I. |

Hey guys, thanks for the props. Ron was kind enough to post the pic. We were playing for a girl who was hit in her car on Thanksgiving, and she can't walk/work for at least 3 months. Her fiance is having to stay home and care for her and her small son, so no income. One of the DJ's from our local classic rock station made it a project and got the ball rolling for them to have some sort of Christmas. He did a great job with a lot of fund raisers, and we were just a part of that. With that said, I showed no mercy and still cranked out some Beerdrinkers & Hellraisers amongst some other finely aged tunes for the people!
As far as #29 goes, I quote one of my friends who was there: "Mark, I really dig your Strat. Your PRS is loud and sounds great. But the Thorn just envelopes me with the notes." 'nuff said Mark |

What a great quote. And so true. Looks like you had a great time for a great cause, Mark! Good on you. |

I always thought # 29 was one of the coolest Thorn's. The pawprint inlays are just too cool.
