Sean and Dan also endured my dumb questions and thanks to them I was able learn a little about guitars. Both are smokin' players as well!
So, I walk up to Sean before the show, introduce myself and he puts 128 in my hand. First thought, HOLY CRAP, this thing is light! Then he reminds me that it's hollow. Still, I was at GC earlier in the night wanking on a strat, and it was like going from the on-deck circle swinging the weighted lead pipe to grabbing Louisville Slugger and stepping up to the plate.
Next, the wood, fit 'n' finish, etc.
And last but not least, the sound. This guitar can do it all. most of the first set, they were still dialing in the sound (besides a new guitar, the band has a new singer, too) But by the second set, things got cookin'! Sean explained that the wood combination on the guitar tends to be really bright. I heard no such concerns. The Fillmores are really smooth, and the guitar has plenty of bottom end for rhythm work without getting muddy. I asked him after a couple of songs what pickup switch position he used. I really liked the second position, which I think he said was n+b split parallel.
She also sounded awesome clean. And I thought it would be difficult to cut through the other six members of the band. I was wrong. Clean soloing and rhythm loud and (very very)clear.
However, where this axe really shines is slapped back on the bridge pickup, upper-register solos. She just screamed. (See below pics of he and Dan side-by-side on "Radar Love")
Okay, the pics. (Don't worry, Sean, I won't show big Mike your pedal board unless I need blackmail leverage.

Sorry for the poor image quality, I'm no photographer and I was using an old cheap camera.
(Sean, let me know if you want the originals. These are shrunk and I also have a few more. I'll email 'em to ya if ya want 'em.)
