It was a nice day today, so I took a couple minutes to grab a shot or two. My camera skills suck, but this rig doesn't!

I'm probably showing my lack of knowledge here, but what are the connections on the side of the pedalboard?
It looks like a mains power in (presumably for a built0in power supply) and three XLRs. It's the XLR's (unless I'm entirely mistaken and they're something else entirely) that have me confused. What are they used for? -Alex

Pretty simple, really. One of the Neutrik connectors is for the guitar input. Basically you have a locking plug, so it's harder for someone to step on a cord and pop it out. Plus, it saves wear and tear on plugging into a pedal or A/B box all the time. The other two are for outputs to the amp(s). I had Kevin install a third jack in the chance I wanted to go out stereo. The power supply is indeed under the board, and all power cables run out through the top middle grommet. I toyed with the idea of going direct up through the board separately to each effect, and after talking to Big Mike and seeing how things went on his board I decided to be more conventional. Plus, I'm always swapping stuff in/out. My unobtanium CJOD is in the closet at the moment, and a Zendrive is waiting to go on the board.
Funny enough, running the Thorn straight into the Greer is an incredible sound. I do have to say Kevin makes a remarkable board, and it is much lighter than you would imagine it to be. It stands right alongside the Thorn and the Greer. - John

Thanks for the kind reply with so much info.
Who knew a forum for fans of a particular luthier would also be so educational? -Alex

Yeah I'm thinking of having Kev do a new board top for me as well.
I had done the whole wired underneath, etc. couldn't see any patch cords or power cords. It was beautiful. Until my constant changing caused one of the cords to go bad. And I couldn't tell which. UGG. LOL Lots of unused swiss cheese in mine now. ______________________
